A leaked internal document from Google has reportedly been obtained by The Daily Caller, and what it reveals is that Google CEO Sundar Pichai knowingly lied to Congress back in December when he claimed that the search engine giant doesn’t “manually intervene” to skew search results against conservatives.
The document contains a “blacklist” compiled by Google that details numerous conservative websites that are now being censored in Google search results, including The Western Journal-owned Conservative Tribune, which is one of the independent news outlets blowing the lid on the Google censorship scandal.
Other websites on Google’s censorship blacklist include The Gateway Pundit, the blogs of conservative commentators Matt Walsh and Gary North, as well as the website of Caroline Glick, an American-born Israeli politician and columnist who writes for Breitbart News.
While Pichai was very careful with his responses to questioning by the House Judiciary Committee back on December 11, 2018, about Google bias, he appears to have slipped up in denying that Google in any way “manually intervene[s]” with search results – and specifically “blue link” results that appear as the top 10 links on Google’s search results page.
“The impact of this leak cannot be overstated,” writes Josh Manning for the Conservative Tribune. “Google is already reeling – and panicking, as the quality of its first response to the leak reflects – because of how bad this looks for a company that has vociferously denied rigging its products against conservatives.”

Perhaps the most damning element of what The Daily Caller received as part of this bombshell leak is a memo that delineates precisely how Google’s blacklist – which, again, Pichai previously denied existed – is managed by the thought police who run the world’s most popular search engine.
The memo explains that “investigation of the watchlist” is performed using a tool known as “Athena,” which the memo describes as “the Ares manual review tool.” Athena “intakes signals from Search, Webspan, and Ares in order to complete reviews.”
“Once a domain is determined to be violating the misrepresentation policy or the Good Neighbor Policy, such patterns are then added to deceptive_news_blacklist_domains.txt by the Trust & Safety team,” the memo goes on to explain.
And it’s not just isolated search results that Google is targeting. It’s entire swaths of search results based on a variety of search terms, all of which are designed to point back to Google’s blacklisted sites in order to bar them from appearing in search results.
What these revelations clearly prove is that Pichai lied to Congress, as well as to the American people. They also show that Pichai and whomever else he’s colluding with to commit such crimes all need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
If America really is a free and just country, where all people are held to the same standards under the law, then there’s no justifiable excuse for not holding Pichai accountable for lying to the people of this country that, in large part, made him the wealthy technocrat that he now is.
“This should be a clarion call to war for conservative members of Congress,” Manning contends. “Conservative speech is under attack. If we lose free speech on the internet, we’re finished. Traditional media is circling the drain. Print newspapers are dying.”
“If online suppression continues, in 20 years, 10 years, or maybe even five years, conservatives will find any idea they publicize immediately relegated to the ash heap of history,” he adds, comparing Google’s censorship tactics to the Nazi book-burnings that occurred prior to World War II.
